Seriously though, what would the point be in knowing when the world will actually end? Panic would be the result, and I'd rather go out oblivious to the screaming horde of humanity.
I wouldn't up and change my life in because I worry about an afterlife, I'd just rather not know the date and time.
exactly why TPTB ( The Powers That Be ) would never tip thier hat to the general human populous that any thing was truely amiss more then usual if the world was indeed ending as we know it. They would be smart enough to send in the clean up crew, and those ment to handle and deal with the situation quietly.... You'd have no idea who they were unless you were one of them. They would keep a lid on the truely horrific stuff as much as they could.. and try to control the process so that as few casualties happened ( like a good seal team would ) They would be in and out. By the time it was over and everything was said and done.. no one would know what happened, or that any outside intervention had occured.
A million and one horrors are averted... you just never know it. Life is bad enough.. no need to worry about what might have happened or what mess got cleaned up.
As for the end, It will come when and as it should. If you are a good person, and are right with yourself and help guide others to become better people... what have you to worry about?
