Let's say you're on CM and realize a co-worker, friend, neighbor, whatever is a member of this site. What do you do?

Nothing, everyone has a right to privacy. I wouldn't want anyone to put their nose into my business if I hadn't already told them about it.

If you see them online, you might want to send an email and say "Hello, this is me, just wanted to let you know I saw you on X site and think it's cool we share similar interests. If you want to talk, feel free, otherwise, please don't worry about privacy, I understand how important it is."

If you see them offline at a vanilla event, you say and do nothing other than you would have done before.

If you see them offline at a kink event, you can go up and mention it's a small world and take cues from them.

Or it's perfectly fine to just act like you never saw them at all (though offline in real life that can be awkward).

....unless this is someone you know well enough & comfortably enough to say hello to within this sort of environment.

I wouldn't shout-out a howdy-hi to some person that you pass in traffic on your way to work or that you recognize from your local supermarket.

I had a co-worker say hello on a different site years ago. We already got along well from a professional stand-point so it did not seem like it was uncomfortable to converse about our shared interests within this... of course only during non-working hours.

Heh..i'd say hey. Like they always say, birds of a feather flock together. Kind of like back in the day of the old drug community. You know well enough to keep it on the down low, but its a common island. And usually on islands its no biggie to talk about the fruit that blooms.

tho personally, with being the nut i am.. i'd email them on collarme and say "HEY, i know you.. your in the cubicle down the aisle.. or some such. Then i'd let them know who i was.. and i;d try up a friendly convo. In person, i would prolly make off the wall jokes that nobody would get, except for like minded ppl. Something like (if its another sub) "ooo it hurts to sit" Let vanilla's question and its something about too much excersice.. The nice thing is. One sentence can mean a million diferent things, and depending on the person and their experience is how they are going to take it.

You mention that it hurts to sit around vanillas.. the first thing that enters their minds is not going to be "oooooo i bet she got a good spanking last night" Same thing all over the world. Words, sentences, and even topics can all mean something other then its presented to mean.

Its called.... Having fun with words.. or more officially... Word Manipulation.

Job interference is something D/s and M/s couples steer clear of not only out of respect/privacy but survival as well and so I would expect the same courtesy from other profilers/life-stylers by insuring my anonymity and job security by keeping quiet about “our” personal lives.

Now here’s a question for you… How many people have been publicly recognized before from CollarMe?

I recently was recognized by someone from my gym. It's no big deal to me, but I camn see where others might be wierded out.
