The collected works of Trent Reznor and NIN may be cliche...but I've loved him since his days with Exotic Birds and I still love him today. Just hearing some of the beats in the dungeon excite me to no end.

i do vocal performance...if you want me to concentrate on what you're doing to my body...don't do anything that will engage the large section of my brain that is dedicated to vocal performance...english, not english, heck - lyrics, no lyrics...doesn't matter...i've sung it all...i can sight read art songs, arias for alto through soprano in english, french, spanish, german, latin, and itallian...so...playing a rammstein song is no less distracting than playing a system of a down song...and it doesn't help that i have Mutter memorized (the album Du Hast came off of) and i know how to sing gregorian chant as well...so thats out of the question for non-distracting...

then again....its not all about me...so...whatever...right?

For those of you who like minimal vocals, (or no vocals) you might look around for the Midnight Syndicate CD's. Very popular right now as they are favorite soundtracks for Halloween... very dark, romantically inspired music. Great for larger playspaces. Also, there's a seminal "techno" band from the UK called "Eat Static" that plays extremely well in play spaces. A lot of their stuff has a UFO or science fiction theme running through it, which is GREAT for the latex crowd.

Oh, and whomever reccommended Poe's "Haunted".... right on! The track called "Control" could be BDSM's national anthem! "I'm Not aVirgin Anymore," and "Do You Wanna Ride With Me" just stir up soooo many naughty thoughts.... "Pull it, she said, and I did, down and around on the longest unzipping of my life...." Word!

nope, i am selfish....and that would contradictory to my post just above your post....they all have vocals...make a mix without vocals and i will plug them...though....i suppose....if you're into music with vocals...DarkDaddyZ is a very excellent DJ and makes mixes that have a steady beat all the way thru them so that you can beat your victims without having to change your rythm...and if you're tired of the same ole mix of NIN and Enigma and Lords of Acid...you should definately check out his stuff...

Well you sure hit a cord with me... I get sooooo tired of the same crap they play at some venues... and those three, NIN, Enigma, and LOA... are some of the worst offenders. They've been playing those same damn tracks since the early frickin' 90's! Please! Something different!

Maybe some Sleep Chamber once in a while... or even some "spacey" stuff like Ray Lynch or Michael Stearns...

I try to record "Hearts of Space" off of NPR this time of year... they get into the darker new age stuff that really lends itself to play parties. It's where I discovered artists like Richard Bone (and all of Hypnos Records), Joycelyn Pook, and Jill Tracy...

I tend to like to scene to hard core industrial, things like TKK, KMFDM,Sistes Machine Gun, old ministry, skinny puppy,things like that but as of late I have really been getting into Tool and APC as scene music.The driving lines just fall into place especially when doing something like rhythmic caning.Alice in Chains is always good too.

We like Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Loving Rockets, Butt Boy has great dungeon music CD's too.

This is definitely a great site and i have referenced it many times before shopping for a new CD when playing. i had to laugh though when they included southern rock on there list. Now i was raised on southern rock being a true southern girl from TN, but i just could really see my self getting off on some Lynard Synard while doing a scene.
