It is completely possible to be both an ownded submissive and a Sadist at heart. To find it exciting to scratch, to bite, to kick and fight, and hear that hard grunt and feel the retaliation, the coil in the other persons body, the flash of energy and heat and struggle. For hurting someone else, to make something hotter, is not territory that is inhabited by Dominants and Switches only. If you are struggling in rough play with someone and sink your teeth into them and it only makes them harder and more excited, for some of us, that is some tasty goodness.

Absolutly it's possible. I would classify a submissive sadist as someone who likes to be told how to hurt people. Sounds like a job description of a pro Top to me and I'm sure most of them enjoy what they do. The broader point in all of this is not to peigon hole yourself (to say if I'm this I also have to be that.) Just be you, and have fun!! Kevin

There's a school of thought that a lot of us follow: A Top/bottom relationship is physical. A Dom/sub relationship is mental. A Master/slave relationship is spiritual. And they can intermix. I know many Masters who are masochists...and many slaves who are excellent Tops or sadists. When i first read this yesterday i thought yes it's entirely possible but i'm not sadist in the slightest! Then last night i was having a discussion with Sir and he showed me a pic of a woman in a certain position. I had all these thoughts about how her position could be made worse, more fun for the Dom / top etc. Some of it was pretty sadistic and sick (blushes) i might add. Sir called me sadistic. The thing is though i could never do all the things i thought of to this woman, or anyone for that matter. I think maybe i just have a sadistic mind.

I just meant that whilst i may imagine it, fantasise about it, i would never actually practice it. Of course i would allow some of the stuff i come up with to be done to me, but i couldn't do it to others. So i guess for clarity of how my sadisticness tends to work, i say i have a sadistic mind.

If you were in the same room with two others, and were asked how you would best apply that sadistic mind... would you be able to give the direction for it to be played out, even though you are not taking a physical hand in it being done? Let me edit this to say that in my question, I am not refering to being asked by your owner to do this because different rules would apply... simply generally asking if you would be able to.

[:D] Ahh, ok... thanks [:)] It's interesting because I have always viewed sadism as more than just a physical manifestation of a mindset. Meaning that if you can think it, imagine it, and smile about it with enthusiasm; that to me was a person who exhibited tendencies towards being sadistic. I have never thought of it in terms only as one who could carry it out physically.

I'm not sure i think of it in those terms either. Sadistic is sadistic but i personally wouldn't wish my sadisticness to be anything other than fantasy or carried out on myself. Maybe its more levels of sadisticness, i don't know [:D]

Sadism and masochism are not synonymous with dominance and submission. These are two different categories and topics. Being a sadist does not equal dominant and being masochist does not equal submissive. This is a big misconception. Being a submissive does not mean you are automatically a masochist. There are plenty dominants that enjoy pain and submissives who enjoy giving pain. Don't get caught in what peoples definitions mean. Do what works for you. You can be a sub and a sadist.

I am an owned slave and definitely not sadistic. But like missturbation said, yes, I could come up with all sorts of ideas on how to torment someone..... but only because I have a very wild and creative imagination. I could not act upon the ideas that I might come up with. I go out of my way not to cause pain or discomfort to others, often bringing those very things onto myself in the process. A month ago, I caught the tail end of a scene where a femdom ripped a clothespin zipper off of her male slaves chest, after they had been there for a while.
