We get mice here pretty much per annum. You have to kill them usually. But there have been some interesting occurrances.
One time, the shower curtain was on the outside of the tub. The lil fucker obviously climbed up it and unfortunately found that he could not get out of the tub. I saw him, and in my stoic fashion simply went to piss like usual, knowing full well that he was there.
So I go drink another beer pondering this situation. Like CL I really don't want to kill them. They are just trying to live their lives, it is not by malice that they invade our homes.
Lil fucker would look at me mean, but I said "Get the fuck out of my house" and I said it several times. Left him to stew for about an hour and came back. After a few more times with "Get the fuck out of my house" I threw the shower curtain into the tub. Then I left the room.
I saw this mouse jump from a second story window into the snow. It was frigid outside but we had no mice for like three years afterwards. Perhaps mice do value their lives and have some form of intelligence.
This sounds like a bunch of bullshit I know, but it is true. Later I did get some of those glue traps and I swear I heard the trapped one "talking" to another. Again mice gone for a couple of years.
This last time around we got thirteen of them. Musta been a family of them in the basement or a wall somewhere. But for mice, this is generations later. The lesson of "stay the fuck out of here" was lost.
I heard if you catch one, burn him in the basement and the smell will deter others. That is next. They do not have to be alive to do this of course. I don't think I could burn any animal alive except George Bush. But that smell pervades your house even after you can no longer smell it, and it is supposed to keep them away. They can still smell it.
And about cats, I seem to have found that once the cat's scent is in the building, the mice go away. That's how it is at work. Cat ain't caught shit, because they can smell him and just stay away.
Any pests, I don't need them dead, just to stay outside.
