The answer is, its not about reality, as that only pertains to things that can be answered scientifically; it is about perseption. When it comes to persception, anything goes.

k

The question of "what is realtiy" is a Philosophy question not a Science question. since science can not prove the existanct of reality as it is not possible to recreate reality in a controled enviornment ( think the Truman show) therefor one can not test the reality of realtiy hence a parodox of existance.

Yep but the question was not "what is reality", it was "what is the reality" Big difference

Pillers of their communities!

I don't think going around your community and causing little tiny balls of fibers to form on the surface is something to be proud of.
Personally, when that happens to my stuff, I get bummed, and if I knew there was someone in my own community causing it to happen, well, let me just say that person would not be invited for tea any time soon.

Greetings justheather,

I saw that, too, but I could not think of anything to say about it. This is priceless![:D] I am laughing too hard to type clearly!

Sincerely,
Master Dave

Descartes walks into a bar...
And the bartender says, "Would you like a drink?"
And Descartes responds, "I think not."
...and promptly disappears in a puff of logic.

There's plenty of reality.  You're seeing it.  Anyone who actually cares to open their eyes sees through the illusions.

And the ones who don't...well you hope they don't get hurt too badly when they break through.

Anyone with experience in the real world would know the answer and not bother with the question.

What they said. [8D]

I did not even understand what the OP was about, much less how to answer it..

Was he saying that people into being beaten and marked cannot be independent and successful?

Was he saying that dominants want tight fresh holes, but settle for less...

I suppose I just read it and thought "WTF?"

eyesopened -> RE: a dichotomy (12/31/2007 12:04:54 PM)

Is being Baroque the same as having no Monet?

I'm more of the "Who Gives a Fuck?" state of mind.  The OP was making broad generalizations about two large groups which were grossly inaccurate based on, apparently, too much time spent reading online fantasy and not enough time living reality.  I thought LA's point summed that up rather nicely... and Michael's delivered the coup de grace.

spicybrains -> RE: a dichotomy (12/31/2007 12:21:41 PM)

So...

The reality?

A lot of ordinary people.  Fat, thin, smart, stupid, well-adjusted, fucked-up, wealthy, poor, happy, depressed, loving and mean-spirited.  Mostly somewhere in between.

I don't really know a lot of submissives who make these kinds of claims to being well-beaten.  I know a lot of submissives who claim to enjoy submission, and claim to like pain and torment of some kind. In every other way they are all different.

I know a lot of Dominants who want to control someone.  Dominants who claim to want pure, clean and tight do not strike me as being very experienced or real.  (They certainly don't strike me any other way - HA)  Or they just watch too much anime.

And I know a lot of subs who ARE pillars of their community.  I mean, aren't people who go on and on about it more annoying than people who just DO it?

A fine evening and a question.
I am not new to SM. I find a dichotomy in practitoners of BDSM here.

Question: Fem submissives crow they are hot stuff, beautiful, independant, hard working, educated, gainfully employed, parents, and mentally stable. Pillers of their communities!

Some of the same submissives claim: broken bones, whip scars that show, bruised faces, and permanent damage are thrilling and orgasmic. You are so gorgeous hon.

What you think a bruise on the face renders a woman helpless from doing anything productive?

Hell, I don't get into broken bones or deliberate permanent damage. We try to avoid whip scars but I've got one anyway. When you play with knives, you get cut sooner or later. Oh well. And yes - I am damn gorgeous even with that patch of discolored skin on my back. [:D]

Hot, sexy, pretty sweet faces and tight holes.

Mr Profile NOT found....  Sadly I think I understand what your after.
The reality as many have said is what is, but to go one step father it is the perception
that I am Hot, Sexy with a Sweet Face and Tight Hole and have found enough Awe
over you to provide you with all your Wildest Dreams.  (reverse this, it says the same thing)

Are you wanting us to answer your question about the submissives or your question about what is reality?

You apparently have trouble with the complex nature of humans in general they do tend to contradict themselves don't they!

Your question about reality - for me reality encompasses contradictions within the moment they are shared with another.  Reality is your interpetation of facts, truths and events that affect your mind. Do you believe in Aliens, A pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, ir that the sun rises in the East, reality is what you believe not what others believe.

So in reality -  yes submissives are pillars in their community and yes submissive like to have their asses beaten to a pulp that is their reality 1 + 1 doesn't = 3 or does it?
