The U.S. arms industry has all but abandoned its traditional allies in the Republican party and is putting their money on Hillary Clinton. The U.S. arms industry is backing Hillary Clinton for President and has all but abandoned its traditional allies in the Republican party. Mrs Clinton has also emerged as Wall Street's favourite. Investment bankers have opened their wallets in unprecedented numbers for the New York senator over the past three months and, in the process, dumped their earlier favourite, Barack Obama. The Dems will bring our boys home! Wont they?

Right now the Republicans do not like any of their candidates so they just are withholding the money they will spend on that party until one clearly emerges. All the corporate/lobbyist donations are going to Hilary because at this time she has become the overwhelming favorite for her party only. A lot can happen in a year and if one Republican catches fire and distances themselves from King George, so they have a shot at being elected, watch the money flow to that person instead of Clinton.

toservez, I think that will be either Ron Paul or Mitt Romney. The Arms cos must think that Hillary will get us into even more shit than King George!

For some reasons US corporations think Ms. Clinton will keep party going (meaning funneling money to the top, deficit spending, flooding country with cheap immigrant labor). They may be right. The highest position I would recommend Ms. Clinton would be a social worker. This is where her experience is. US election system is broken; eligible people would not even apply for the high government positions.

Still being undecided about any candidate, the one thing that bothers me most about Hillary is that her husband is so closely bonded with George I. If anything kills Hillary's chances. it's this offside alliance he has. I know I'm watching... verrrrry closely.

Maybe this is what the people need to see with their own eyes to figure out that the Democrats are not all that different than Republicans... For some reason....people think Hillary is going to end the war. And she has never said she will end it. In fact I think she'll probably bomb Iran. But she'll get the anti-war vote because people truely think voting for a Democrat is the same as voting against a Republican. The joke though is on the voter, because they are voting for nothing but the status quo.

I thought she said 2013 was likely when she would have all troops out? This backing by the weapons industry means she is going to owe them a favor, wonder how she will pay that off? Orion

We are building a multi-billion dollar embassy and the Pentagon is building permanent bases. We arn't going anywhere...

The progressives are a small wing of the Dem party though, but very loud in porportion to thier numbers. You know full well that Randi and Thom ect, will all be saying you have to vote for Hillary, come the real election. They are critical now so they can have credibility later. Will the Progressives buy it though? And the Republicans could very well face the same issue with the religous right. Its all shaping very interestingly.

That this is a polarized nation that looks at every election as being between two choices. Liberals and progressives will vote for the Democrat nominee and the conservatives and the right wing will vote for the Republican nominee. Why? Because each side doesn't want the other side to win. So they choose the less of two evils. Welcome to American politics.

I know even though my views are all over the map I decided long ago whoever the Democrats nominate I am voting for their candidate even if I am not a fan. (And I am not one of Clinton). For me right now we have a President for eight years trying to push this country toward a monarchy and at least feels that only the people that voted for him count and not all American citizens. I think it is critical to vote against this more then who has the better get out of Iraq plan or what a 1% tax increase or cut for the top 1% of taxpayers that might be affected by it. To me though the two reasons why we have such poor candidates to choose from besides the well publicize reason, why would anyone want to put up with it all, is that we start from top down and too many one issue voters. If we as the voters spent more time caring about who runs from the lowest forms of government we would have a better, not guaranteed, candidates to run. We also have far too many voters who vote on one issue and often on the delusion of what the other side will do based on fear. Example that Democrats want to take everyone’s guns away or Republicans want to throw anyone that practices pre-marital sex into jail. And yes I see the irony of bitching about one issue voters as I just listed my one issue why I am voting the way I am.
