As a submissive, i can certainly see such a difference between "radioactive" and "proactive". Almost an evolution, a mental and emotional progression possibly, well maybe for me as i matured into submission.
i believe the "proactive" kind is where the true submission lies, and where the exhange of Power can begin. To reach this "proactive" stage, i feel one needs to "let go" of pre-conceived beliefs and wants and desires about what a D/s relationship "should" be, about how his/her Dominant "should" interact. By letting go, one embraces his/her true self, and exposes his/her bare emotional canvas for the Dominant to better know him/her.
This "letting go" takes time and efforts, but nothing has been more worth it (to me). Embracing your submissive self to then truly be able to serve your Dominant and please Him/Her, not the other way around.
