Okay, not to be snippy here, but that was addressed to me Em :) Please don't take it upon yourself to reply to messages meant for me, it's rude.

As for you Ranger, I would be happy to help in any way that I can, feel free to email or message me at any time.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Out of body Experiences? (8/4/2005 8:53:25 PM)

A post that asks for "yours and others techniques" is addressed solely to you?

As LAM pointed out already, the post asked for "yours and others" perspectives. Just because a person specifically replies to a post does not mean that they intend on only that person responding to their post.

Secondly, anything that is put in the public discussion forums can and usually WILL be discussed by others, whether intentioned or not. If you expect only one persons input, it's best to send it to them privately. It's not rude to publicly comment on another comment made publicly, specially in cyberspace.

I don't mean to be "snippy" or sticking
my nose in here but Kindred2, you were
the rude one first with trying to Hi-Jack
anothers thread!

I disagree. Not to discount the other posters, but for me, Kindred's posts really made the thread interesting. I knew through the mentioning of very familiar and specific details, she knew exactly what she was talking about. I will say again, though.....The whole thread and ALL the posts have been very interesting.

Okay, I'm not doing this. All I did was respond to the topic. I'm not getting into a big ole mess with anyone here, it's just the net for crikes sake.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Out of body Experiences? (8/5/2005 10:18:36 AM)

A good strategy for not getting into messes is not to start them.

brightspot -> RE: Out of body Experiences? (8/5/2005 12:17:37 PM)

Well said Lam!

As to my answer to the opening post; I have had and continue to have
OOBE's. Some are Spritually enlightening,
Some catch me off guard and send me into a panic attack.

I would suggest focusing more on hypnosis or lucid dreaming to explore those past experiencces. OOBEs are simply detatching your conscious self from your physical body. By focusing on going inside and into your past you will more vividly experience what you want.

There are some therapists and hypno-therapists that have a lot of experience with past-life and past regression.

i am sure this opinion will be discarded, but the mind will do very strange things when under extreme stress...and anxiety can be taken to heights beyond one's ability to completely deal with it consciously. Things like panic attacks that have people rushing to the ER believing they are dying of a heart attack are only one example. If the stress is prolonged, the nightmares can be extreme, and the daytime anxiety can be nearly hallunenioentic. (yes, i know it's misspelt.) i'm not inclined to put much stock in extra-sensory experiences (although i do believe in the 6th sense) when the body/mind is capable of producing these effects. i'm not saying it never happens..i'm saying that it certainly is the product of extreme stress and anxiety at least some of the time. Probably all of the time, and at least most of the time. This probably does nothing to diminish the meaningfulness of the experience to the person involved. To me, if anything, it would enhance it.

Pink....

Not to discredit your post, because I certainly think it has validity. But, I can personally attest to the fact that these experiences happen to me when I'm the LEAST stressed. In fact, they never happen when I'm stressed - Life is always going good when they come on.

That experience where you can see yourself is a medical mental conditions that's called something like dissociation- and it is when your mind "goes separate from your body"- I don't know much on the topic, other than one of my best friends had told me about it years ago (her "soul" or "mind" would go up to her bedroom ceiling and she could see her self on the bed)- and a couple of years ago my cousin told me about learning that in medical school- it's never happened to me-

So how do you differentiate between these two?

Actually I've NEVER experienced an OOBE during a stress of anxious time. It's always been very calm and quiet and relaxing. I actually think I've taught myself that it's not safe to leave my body during stressful periods and only safe to do so during quiet times.

knees2you -> RE: Out of body Experiences? (8/13/2005 7:43:08 PM)

I could look this up myself,
But I trust Collarme.
I'm wondering if anybody here knows of a good site,
or Cd teaching about OOBE??
