Saying he wants to move on is one thing. Taking steps to be able to do it is something else. If in all this time, he still can't do it by himself, then he needs to get some professional help. And you need to be honest. Which means telling him that you don't believe he can move on because if he were capable of doing so, then he would have. And you aren't willing to continue being constantly hurt by him any more. And that you need to see him take steps to change, and then give him a list of reputable male therapists. Ask your doctor for some names.

If he really wants to make changes, then he'll seek out help. If he doesn't, then it's up to you to protect yourself.
