"When we first got here, all the shops were open. There were women and children walking out on the street," Alarcon said this week. "The women were in Western clothing. It was our favorite street to go down because of all the hot chicks."

That was 14 long months ago, when the soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, arrived in southwestern Baghdad. It was before their partners in the Iraqi National Police became their enemies and before Shiite militiamen, aligned with the police, attempted to exterminate a neighborhood of middle-class Sunni families

I don't understand your point.   I read the article and it contains the opinion of one person.   The 18th Inf has long served our country.   What is the problem?

Just sharing a few soldier`s story.

Take it anyway you want.

ok   Then why not share some of the stories with a differing opinion for objectivitiy?

Naw   Since you aren't presenting your opinion, and just putting stuff out there that someone else thinks up, I think you should at least be objective.   Most journalists aren't,   they make their posts jaded with their opinnion I belive.   But if you wanted to add your opinion on the story, then cool.   I would have no problem with that.

So the priveledged neighboorhood that was tightly allied to Saddam's regiem is doing worse now.  The leaders of the groups that allied with Al queda to try to retake power, are suffering.  Boo Hoo!!  After the Confederacy  was defeated the Formerly rich slave owners were not as well off either.  Shall we cry for them?

you didnt risk shit------------
learn to spell regime before you use it in a sentence.

luckydog1 -> RE: 'I Don't Think This Place Is Worth Another Soldier's Life' (11/2/2007 9:52:58 PM)

Mnot, you of all people getting your panties in a bunch over spelling.  How funny.  Guess you can't refute my point in any sort of logical or factual way.  So you attack my spelling.  About what we have come to expect from you.   Why don't you spell "didn't" right before you begin mocking my spelling.  Really the Pin Head Spelling Brigade (there are about 5 of you that I see) is just pathetic, especially when they make errors in their own posts.   You should stick to your rambling jibberish posts, you had a few fans for those.

mnottertail -> RE: 'I Don't Think This Place Is Worth Another Soldier's Life' (11/2/2007 9:57:46 PM)

well, if you had a point, i would have addressed it.  Since you are incapable of it, I visit you for spelling.........it has talking points, is factual; but something else you have no dominion in.

Cordially,
Ron

So the point went over your head yet again, no surprise.  I am sure the Majority of readers see it just fine.

Have a great evening Mnot

Actually you are whining about spelling, while making errors of your own.  Damn low standard for a prophet.
