ElektraUkM -> RE: Pushy BDSM and D/s pepole. (8/5/2005 3:51:07 AM)

Well I'm pretty much the same with my level of communication with people... particularly casual acquaintances over the internet ~ I'm probably not alone in having a ton of people on messenger, and if I'm not going to be around for days (even if I knew that, and it wasn't just me drifting off for a while or being busy or something) I wouldn't go messaging them all or emailing them telling them what was happening! I'm sure most of them would think I was nuts or something if I did that!

Yeah, some people make a big song and dance about 'where have you been ~ I've been worried' ~ but (and I know people disagree with me on this) in my opinion it's up to them to get used to the fact that sometimes I just don't turn the messenger on for a time! I really don't like any whiff of 'controlling' behaviour, however mild (and I know I'm very sensitive to it!). I don't like people I chat to online getting all responsible over me [:@]

That said ~ I know that some people see it as a caring, friendly way of going about a relationship, and I'm being over-sensitive. And that's fine... I would say that those people were well-suited as friends, because they expect that sort of behaviour from eachother. SO ~ the upshot is, that it's not really outrageous, but just a question of compatability.... but...

But, I think that anyone talking about 'withdrawing their friendship' over the fact you don't tell them what you're up to 24/7 and making a big deal of things ~ virtually flouncing out of the room... is obviously used to dictating friendship/relationship terms. That sort of thing makes me laugh when it's just someone online... but if you're in an actual relationship with that sort of person, their behaviour can get just too much to bear and you can end up rowing constantly or caving in and making that call to let them know you're OK [:'(]

Ooops... I think I ranted.

Basically, if they're just people online, I'd pull the plug on them if they're getting that way.

i usualy try to keep to contact whit my frinds and contacts, but somtimes it can take a little time, both becouse i have many resposibilities outside of my online frinds, and becouse i often are depressed, and everything takes longer when depressed.
