Updates: Thank you all that have responded to this thread, the dialog has helped me and I am sure others. The most effective means of punishment/correction I have used thus far has been a combonation of negative and possitive reenforcement. My slave likes the Pats and was looking forward to watching the game. However, she has been having difficulty with asking permission to leave my side - in the store earlier she wandered off to look at something on her own, and then later in the day she went to the bathroom (both times would have been approved if she had only asked.) So at kick-off I made her go to the kitchen, sit at the table, and write: "I will not forget my Master, I will honor my Master." 115 times (the extra 15 were added on for forgetting to use Sir at the end of a question). This took away from something she enjoyed, and added something constructive and corrective. Though I think next time I will have her do the lines on the hardwood floor - kneeling and hunched over the paper.

Master has had times when "punishment" has been an issue as there doesn't seem to be alot in the way of BDSM I don't like,(That He is willing to do) what he has come up with is this: He took one of His toys ( a red hard rubber tube, its about 3 ft long) out of the play toys. This is now "The Punishment Stick". and Trust me it works. All He has to do is mention it and I straighten right up. Just the mindset of knowing the only time that stick is in His hands is when I have done something not pleasing. An example: I was very bad at leaving pop cans sitting around. Master told me for every one He found not by my side with me drinking it at the time I would get one stroke of "the stick" , it took 2 days and 10 strokes and noone will ever see another pop can sitting around Our house again. Winnowing99 I HATE hand-written writing punishments!!!! I went to catholic schools and my mom swears she has the entire bible in my handwriting from 4-6 years of detention (I was a bad girl LOL) My Sir has only used writing assignments once or twice and I was the perfect angel for WEEKS afterwords! LOL I think out of everything I've read here that was the ONE that made me shudder in loathing! Lady Luna

hang her from the rafters with chains,, and let her tippy toes touch the cold concrete pavement and leave her there over night,, some times the best punishment is none at all but the anticipation,, might also think about getting a cage

You've only been together a short time. How many rules have you given her? Have you explained in detail how you want her to behave, and how to alter that from in private to in public? Does she agree with you about these rules, because if she feels they are pointless then she will not feel the need to follow them. But zeroing in on the short time statement, I wonder if punishment is required. Myself, I require a learning period where he repeats what he wants out of me, and asks me to do it again until I get it right, and where he understands that training new habits takes a full month of repitition daily. If you're seeing each other once a week, then expecting her to switch suddenly after one statement of a rule from how she ordinarily behaves to what you want is unrealistic. Work on one thing at a time until she gets it down thoroughly, praise her when she gets it right, and she'll be motivated to keep trying. Punish for a dozen different things after only half explaining it once, and expect her to give up. Stuff like that makes some of us conclude we are either being deliberately set up to fail, or the dom isn't capable of teaching us.
