Getting back to the OP's original post:
Nothing that you are thinking about is outside the realm of possibility. The question is, how to best find a like minded individual who would like road testing these desires with you. You say you've found a few dominants in your local area. That's good. I'd say keep looking, but a better place to do that might be at a local munch, or play party. Usually, in a major city there are "gateway" groups that introducing new folk to the community is part of their mission statement. You might want to Google up a few groups and give them a try.
I do congradulate you for getting up the courage to persue your desires. You probably won't regret it. (Whereas, the people who stay at home, and never try, almost always do end up regretting that path.)
