Do people enjoy it? Of course some do.. Is it necessarily good for them? It certainly seems to have its dangers, but this is far from the first or last time a human being enjoyed something that wasn't entirely safe for them.
Many of us seem to be thrill seekers by nature, and even if the sensation of asphyxiation isn't what they're looking for, the threat factor is also strong in this type of play, no? If it is the threat factor that appeals rather than the asphyxiation itself, there are certainly more controllable ways to go about it.
That being said, it never does stop the curiosity?
