I quite agree, especially about getting a more modern unit with a ceramic core. Whenever I use mine, it tends to be on for a looooonnnnng time. In private because we just love it and in public because we often attract attention and people ask to try it. I'd say simply keep it away from the face. The sparks can damage the eyes and the rest of the body offers far better fun. Don't wear a watch, whichever side you are on, apparently the VW can stop them. Don't use on someone wearing either a hearing aid or pace maker. (I don't know what effect it would have, but as several reliable sources all said this, it's something I've stuck to over the years). I frequently use it over the heart area, (note this is a Violet Wand ). Be aware that some attachments can leave what looks like a heat rash and which may last a few days. I've noticed this with the mylar flogger most, but also with metalic tinsle. As with most things, start low and see it's effect when used on the various body parts. Move it about. Aparently keeping it in one place can leave a burn like sunburn. I've never known anyone do it, but it does seem logical. Be careful with piercings, especially if there is any gap between bar etc and the hole it's through. I strongly reccommend that you do not insert into any body orafice. Obviously the glass attachments can break/shatter, but even the safest material may do damage to the much more sensitive internal tissue. Any number of metal and metallic objects can be used, experiment. Think finger armour, metallic pan scrubbers, banjo picks, Small neon tubes are good too. They glow brighter as you near the skin and the feel is sharper. Buy the best kit you can, preferably from a reputable dealer and/or get it checked over by someone who knows what they are doing.
