Anyone else catch the part about the "Pear of Anguish?"  Wonder where they got one....

and how the hell did Reid know what it was?? [;)]

I caught it. Either he is well read as they were popular medieval torture tool, well at least in literature, or it was merely good script writers.

Of course they leave it to the audience to determine what they are for, don’t they? Now who might know that?

Reid knows everything and anyone who watches that show, knows what the pear is for.

lol. my roomate didn't know.  and had to think about it for a minute before I could remember what it was.

daddyncherry -> RE: Criminal Minds (11/8/2007 8:49:34 AM)

i didn't now what it was or how to spell it (pair, paire,pear,pare)....but i did recall seeing this thread and came back hoping i  could find out.

Is this thing common knowledge? i think i was absent in class that day.:)

sexyred1 -> RE: Criminal Minds (11/8/2007 8:58:51 AM)

nah, not common knowledge, unless you read alot about medieval torture techniques![;)]

LadyLynx -> RE: Criminal Minds (11/8/2007 9:18:53 AM)

I had heard about it when I read about the Witch trials, not pleasent reading, but I figured since I was a pagan, I needed to know the good,bad and the ugly.

I know, I saw it when I was in London at the Tower of London and it was completely horrifying to see in person. I cannot even imagine it....

Ahhhh that makes sense, since i found it online at some place called "occasional hell" that had alot of that stuff. Quite morbid.

Yeah...not many of the torture implements looked that great to me on the episode....but I think that was the point. ;-)

Those people sure had some ingenius forms of torture.

Squidley -> RE: Criminal Minds (11/8/2007 1:02:43 PM)

The thing was the bad guy had all these poorly done home-made torture tools and a really sweet well made pear.

Goes to show you where his head was at, don't you think?

WHAT EPISODE???

Shawn1066 -> RE: Criminal Minds (11/8/2007 5:50:05 PM)

I kinda got bad vibes from the episode when they starting talking about Dominance and Submission within the context of the two criminal's relationship.  Granted, they were obviously both unbalanced in other areas, they kind of treated it like that was their primary imbalance.
