Why is amnesty for AT&T and Verizon for breaking the law right?

And how did they break this law? i am just curious here, trying to figure out what they are doing, or alleged to be doing that is in violation of this.

Who says either is 'right'?

The telecoms basically bought their amnesty by helping Bush garner intelligence that was in and of itself most likely unlawful.  So, they get amnesty to stop from airing the President's dirty laundry.  Not surprising, even if it's not 'right'.

What does that have to with amnesty for illegal aliens, though?  Somehow, I don't see any correlation between the two.

The House looks like they're shooting down any idea the Senate had of any legislation including an Amnesty bill for Illegal Aliens.

Right now, the telcom companies which have permitted the NSA to install optical splitters on their backbones, copying ALL traffic to the Government ( without a warrant ) are lobbying HARD for amnesty from their alleged crimes. The fines could easily bankrupt AT&T.

Ah ha We all know the reason for that, corporations and dollars in the pockets of politicians are more important than small people.

Drop the backbone and research for tech in the US, and of course put alot of the administration in jail. A sticky wicket, that.
