Hi, I am glad you have found Collarme to be such welcoming community. 
I would encourage you to continue to read the message boards and to offer up any comments or questions you might have. The forums can be a great way to learn and to make friend as well.
Since you are new, you might want to consider reading some of the WizDomme Newbie Pack. Please pay special attention to the articles on safety.
You might also enjoy reading 10 Steps For Making A Good First Impression. This has very good advice regarding your search for a domina.
Lastly, you might want to get involved in your local BDSM organization. Its munches are dinner get togethers, often in family style restaurant. They are low key, relaxed ways for meeting others in the local scene. It will allow you make yourself known, learn about what is happening locally, and again... help protect yourself as well.
I am not sure of the groups in your area, but sometimes there is one dedicated to people 18-30 years old. You might find that to be comfortable way to get your feet wet.
You might consider looking at the webpage of South East Wisconsin Discussion Group. They are based in Milwaukee, their calendar is up to date and they have have local links as well.
