ORIGINAL: subversiveone i would really love to see perhaps a forum or section devoted to discussion of fetishes. my arguement for it is as follows: 1. If there was a "blue monkey" discussion going on and you despise all mention of blue monkeys you could easily steer clear or vice versa. Insert any fetish you can think of in the quotes. 2. Since D/s is so inherently sexual, isn't it natural to discuss sexual fetishes and seperate them in some fashion? You'd have to prove this supporting statement. For many people Ds isn't sexual at all, including me. For me, Ms is about an authority transfer relationship. However, I think Ds is included in the "alternative lifestyles" umbrella and fetishes are often closely associated with Ds so bringing up fetishes would be reasonable to me. quote:
3. Collarme may be more educational for the addition of it. 4. There is more to a fetish than the mere 'oddity' of it and titillation factor. Much much more. I'd disagree with #4. Fetishes are literally about titillation- they are objects/people/situations that someone NEEDS in order to perform or be fulfilled sexually. Nothing more or less. A lot of people like to use fetish in a much less serious light, as a word for "something that really gets me turned on" but that's not an actual fetish. While I find the nature of fetishism interesting, it's a pretty run of the mill associative dynamic. quote:
5. A fetish crosses the limits of M/s. How so? Fetishes really have nothing to do with Ms or anything really, they are just fetishes. A person can have a fetish and be whatever orientation in bdsm or Ms or any WIITWD thing, or be completely vanilla and just happen to have a specific fetish. Again I certainly think bringing up fetish discussions here make sense, and if there's enough interest then a forum would make sense as well. I just think your premises are lacking to support the conclusion you want to make.
