This girl is often asked about the Gorean lifestyle. Recently it has become even more clear that when the interested ask.....they may become bombarded with websites, opinions and individual beliefs. It can be painstaking to sift through all of the "information" only then to not be able to ascertain what is the "truth" that the seeker can take deep inside themselves, embrace and live. Some speak with great pain and confusion when they are imbedded in the exploration. After much thought, this girl believes that of course there is no one right answer that can be shared amongst all of us. There is no "one truth" even in something as well documented as the Gorean lifestyle. Facts in the books have been quoted differently, how to take those principles and integrate them into our current world realities hugely differ, and many other facets have wide interpretations, most of which are listed on some websites as facts or at least as "widely held" beliefs. For example, the books contain many examples of slaves speaking in the first person, yet there seems a widely held belief that a "real Gorean slave" only speaks in the third person. The truth is, that a Gorean slave is owned property and obeys the Master. Period. The girl understands she is not an equal to or with her Owner and embraces her natural place in life. Perhaps it is the human condition to explore new concepts by using a "devils advocate" approach - meaning to try and refute the position being put forward, and then when one cannot do so, one can be thought to have arrived at a truth they can embrace. Sometimes this approach may seem one of disrespect, questioning over and over what is being put forward. However, it may be a very valid way to sort through what is being presented, and it is more the way in which this process is conducted that could diminish such feelings. Regardless, this girl is reminded yet again of; how long the journey is to find what one searches for, how personal and sometimes lonely that exploration is, how many sleepless nights it might entail wrestling with one's own needs the readiness of people to accept the responsibility of nurturing what the soul craves the fact that no matter how much info is provided, ultimately each person must examine it, separate out the romance/sensuality from the fundamental elements and find that which they can embrace This girl wishes all who set out to explore what their core craves, great patience, the power to discriminate what is valuable from what is rhetoric, and lastly, the courage to continue to search, question and demand, that the explanations are a comfort to their soul and sensible to their minds. Be assured that this girl is thinking about your quest, and remembers the magnitude of the search. Ultimately the truth is within you. shai^tana
