Same thing I heard those twenty five years ago, something to do with green monkey disease. How it came to human race from such a small corner of the world is an interesting question.

Small corner of the world? Cameroon covers about twice the area of the UK.

And if you read the linked article, it explains how the disease spread to humans.

And they have oil.

Doesn't explain how or why the chimps developed AIDS, nor does it adequately explain how we reached the pandemic stage so quickly.

It was already known that the virus originated in apes. The question is in what Russian biological warfare lab it was weaponized. Who were the people who were the victims of the experiments? Russian prisoners? People in Russion mental institutions?
