FangsNfeet -> Fire Play Items? (8/9/2005 2:36:16 PM)

Does anyone here sell or know of good sites to order Fire Play supplies? I'm always on the look out for bigger, hotter, and brighter things to try out on my pet.

<laughing hysterically> Oh...and matches and/or lighter...they can be mighty hard to come by.

***Okay, I had to come back and edit this. FnF, I'm sorry I laughed. I wasn't laughing *at* you, but more at the situation. Seriously....if you don't know anything about fire play, I do hope you have the common sense not to try it on your submissive. Fireplay is considered edge play for a reason.

What she said. :P

Yeah I edited a really big important part because he does know about it. I trust him not to do anything that has even the slightest possiblilty o fhurting me but the idea still scares me. Yeah, I know that's the point. [>:]

All you need is 70% alchohol, cotten and your fingers...Then for safety a wet towel..And if you get a bit sloppy, silverdene(sp) creame..lol...
Another way is with magicians flash cotton...always have a spotter near..as fate said, it's edge play..you can also do fire cupping..

Respectfully,
sultry

Don't let it scare you too much! It was a hard limit for me until I actually got talked into trying it. The experience was much different than my expecations. As long as the same spot isn't lit over and over again, and is put out or burns out fairly quickly, it just leaves you with a nice warm sensation on your bod (I had it done on my back and it was very nice -- plus we got some really cool looking pictures. In a dimly lit room, the fire really stands out.) It can get a bit owchie if they keep doing the same exact spot, but again, that's what some people like.

Just remember to have a very wet towel handy for emergencies and clean off the body with rubbing alcohol (then clean that off with said wet towel, then dry towel) before you start, so you remove any body oils that might cause a burn.

FnF: the only suggestion I can make is rather than matches, try igniting the alcohol with a Violet Wand -- one of the long attachments works well for sparking the alcohol without the dangers inherent in matches and hot lighters.

I do have knowledge of fire play. I just didnt know if anyone sold Fire Play Packets and novelty items to go along with what I know to make things look more attractive. Not everything I do has to be home made. So please, if anyone knows of the sells of FIRE PLAY products, let me know.

People people people,

I am not asking for fire play advice. If I wanted fire play advice I'd be making this thread in Ask A Master. But no, I'm not asking for advice. I'm asking for webstites to purchase online fire play novelties explicitly made for decorative fire play. I'm very well pased Fire Play 101 and that's not what this post is about.
If you don't know a place to purchase fire play items explicitly for FIRE PLAY then your post are not needed.

Thanks for understanding

I have never seen any sort of kits for fire play. Although it is also a new play technique for us, we've only been playing with fire for about 5 years now.
What you need are the basics....unless you bought them in bulk, don't know how they would make a kit.
It isn't like it is recommended to try to change the flame. That is dangerous the different colors.

Fangs,
I don't know of any fire play kits that are available for sale but this link has a really cool section on fire balls if you are shooting for bigger, hotter and brighter. It really is very impressive when done.

We use a fireplace lighter...that way at least one of us isn't right on top of the fire.

PrincessinLatex -> RE: Fire Play Items? (8/9/2005 8:40:13 PM)

I believe Lady Lilith (www.frugaldomme.com) makes her own fire play "wands" that she sells for relatively cheap on her site. Tell her Jules sent ya ;)

Most people I know tend to either make their own fancy gear or buy from magic supply shops. Or pervert things from industry/ consumer goods. Part of the learning process for the safety considerations is in the development of the technique tools.

I wouldn't post any advanced techniques to a public board but I am always happy to teach advanced techniques to a very small group or individual. Seen far too many people read something online and try to duplicate it without the proper safety considerations.

To me even posting the basics online is an invite to disaster for some people.
If basic fireplay is edgeplay then more advanced stuff should be learned face to face.
Just my personal over inflated opinions

Considering your location I would suggest you contact MasterX (used to be X Mentor) through the local scene and talk fire with him bounce ideas around. He and I started fireplay about the same time and we used to bounce ideas off each other all the time before I moved from Dallas.

Most of the people I know who engage in fire play use torches used for fire eating.

That being said, they make them on their own.

BUT! You can get info online for how to wrap a decent fire-eater's torch, and what different kinds of fuels to use on the skin. You've seen people do flame transfers on their fingers and lips in fire-eating acts? They don't use alcohol.

I don't know if that was too vague :) I just don't know for sure what fuels are safest.
