"The U.S. Military is demanding that thousands of wounded service personnel give back signing bonuses because they are unable to serve out their commitments."

Thanks George.

I have heard about this... and it's shameful. Agree with the war or not I don't care. I have friends over there with thier boots in the damn sand. Now is not the time to be taking things away from these brave folks who gave so much.

That is the height of bureaucratic indifference, and takes cheapness to a whole new level.

Is that the kind of outfit we want running our healthcare? A federal bureaucracy???

I don't think so.

This has nothing to do with health-care management.

This is a plutocracy. There's plenty of money for multinational corporations and war profiteers. The money comes from you and is redistributed via a reverse-Robin Hood scheme into the hands of the already enormously wealthy.

Money for the people, the soldiers? Not so much...having taken the money via tax legislation they aren't giving it back.

Universal Healthcare is the only chance to get some value for all of our money.

We could end this stupid war to pay for it.

FWIW, Sanity - your buddy Nixon is the one that shoved through the endless profit motive via managed care insurance schemes. The government hands in your pockets belong to Republicans.

The way I see it, Republicans just loot the taxpayer while the Democrats at least give back some value for the money through a variety of social programs. I think history shows that to be true.

Typical Republican response although Sanity puts a new spin on it.  Typically, all the worlds ills are blamed on Bill Clinton but now he is blaming the mistakes of Bush on Hillary.  No wonder Republicans can't even improve the living situation in a  third world country, let alone govern competently the US.

These aren't guys managing healthcare. They're managing recruitment bonuses. The problem is "The Dickheads Who Cut The Recruitment Bonus Checks want a rebate when someone doesn't complete their contractual obligations."

The CONTRACT is fucked up. And the CONTRACT ADMINISTRATORS are fucked up. Now, the military's provision of healthcare might be fucked up, but that's a different issue.

And healthcare's a non-issue, once you get the insurance companies to stop fucking over the doctors who are properly submitting valid claims.
