Oh please. I won't go to New Orleans for a day trip to the zoo with my girls because of the crime down there. I don't expect presidential candidates to go anywhere I would not go. Louisiana is in the shape it's in because of stupid politicians like Blanco, Nagin, and the Landrieu. There's a video of Blanco at a speech Bush gave saying she should have let the federal goverment in the first time they asked. I hate Bush. I think he has singlehandedly destroyed the constitution, but this was not his fault. South Mississippi is doing great as far as coming back. Do you want to know why? We have a great governor who made friends instead of enemies with emergency management officials (even when they refused to pay for most of the debris cleanup because we got off our butts and used local people) and people who want to come back from it and not sit on their butts looking for a handout like those in New Orleans.
Besides, it's been 2 years. They've had plenty of time to whine and cry on TV when what they were supposed to be doing is rebuilding a city. They've been given tons of money with next to nothing to show for it. Where they are is their own fault, and I'm really, really happy New Orleans was left out of the debates.
