The title is     "THE WAY OF A MAN WITH A MAID". Any help in how we can find the value?   We have a profile here and mail should be directed there...ty.....DANZOR

IN New York there are many rare book sellers.......have it appraised there.  Might cost you a couple bucks, but well worth it.

You can also do a search on alibris.com and biblio.com and see what similar books are going for, although it may still be hard to get information as it is such a rare book.

Simple. Take it to any good antiquarian book store and ask for an apraisal. They'll take into account the condition, the actual rarity of the book, if there are any details that might increase/decrease the value... just like "Antiques Roadshow."

Although, I have a copy of the same book. It's obviously a "read" copy, but was last apraised at $150. I was told that a prime condition of the same book may be worth about three times that.

Good luck!

Value depends on who owns it and others desire to aquire it .i know if i owned it the value would be NOT FOR SALE .others would turn it and make a buck .A guide book  is just that a guide  a starting point and could go higher or lower .

It appears your book was first published in Paris, 1896. I found a 1911 [London; New York] edition (143 of 1100 copies) in ¾ Morocco, gilt edges with slipcase (condition seems to be fair... which is bookman's terms ain't all that great); that dealer has it priced at $150. BTW it was re-published in 1928, 1931, 9135, 1936, 1974, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2007... earlier does tend to increase the value, but condition is king in the book world.

Please do realize that asking price does not necessarily indicate worth... worth is only determined after you find a client willing to pay the asking price. [;)]
