I am in retail. I work this afternoon for 4.5 hours. I am off tomorrow, but because the truck comes Saturday now, I will have to work all weekend.
Who has to work on Thanksgiving?

Does cooking and cleaning with the family count? :) Oh wait, it is not really work if you enjoy it! Seriously though, if given the opportunity I would be at work for the next two days. With unexpected bills cropping up suddenly I need the two days extra. lol

notwithstanding I'm in the UK and so Thanksgiving doesnt mean much, I own my company and work from home, so I work every day!

edited to add - weekends, holidays and sleep are for the weak!

Canadas thanksgiving was last month, but I worked a while then, but as I run my own business from home, yep pretty much the same everyday I work at some point. Unless Im away of course, Then its as much play as I can

Oh that stinks, but hopefully your shift will go quickly. I have today off, but must work Friday (new job), so I'm flying home late that night for a "leftovers Thanksgiving" with my family. Until then I'm not touching any holiday foods, so I don't spoil my fashionably late Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving & Christmas week were my absolute favorite times to be working. Yes.. it was retail and no I am not a masochist.I miss miss miss working holidays, I'm going to be sad on BlackFriday while I hit the sales because I won't be working. I loved the frenzy, the chaos & the fun.

I did...medical field. Hospitals, Urgent Cares and ERs don't close and there's no such thing as a holiday.

Didn't have to work on Thursday or Friday (client company closed), but I paid for it Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Since I am consulting and get paid by the hour, I had to get 36 billable hours in the first three days of the week to minimize a loss of income.

I am glad that's over with and I can now enjoy my nice long weekend.
