Try doing searches for the words shibari and/or kinbaku (or kinbaku-bi). They are Japanese words meaning to tie/to bind/beautiful bondage, etc. Or at least that's what the websites tell me - I don't speak the language, lol! I think you will find both of those Yahoo groups loaded with information on rope. Midori even has a new book out that you might enjoy. Even though I only lurk on those groups, I have to say that they are rather inspiring. The people are polite, helpful and very friedly. Topics range from safety (watch your wrists! and check circulation often) to speed knots to storing rope. Oh, and they offer advice on how to avoid becoming "Kitten Dom" - aka looking like you're doing an impression of a large kitten playing with a big ball of rope yarn. Shorter lengths of rope and proper coils help, or so they say. I am just glad that I am the recipient, not the one doing the tying. My eyes would cross. I might be able to give a bit better direction if I knew what you were looking to do. Are you tying for sex, for fantastic pictures, for long term bondage, for discomfort, or all of the above? Oh, and something very, very, very important. Ultra important. Tell your Dom that you have to go pee BEFORE He spends two hours tying you up in one of those super intracite ties. Seriously. While this has not happened to me, it was advice that was shared by a good friend and I have taken it to heart. Cause it takes a while to UN-tie you, too, lol.
