To me it means Bondage, Discipline, Sadism and Masochism....nothing more. It does not describe a relationship...it does not describe a lifestyle...they are simply activities that I enjoy. That was the intended definition of the acronym originally and for me it is still what I mean when I use it.

Well for me, it is simply the frosting on a D/s cake. The D/s is what captures my focus, the BDSM is the fun and games of it all...Tempting

For me, it's an umbrella acronym, covering everyone from those (like me) who would love to have a long-term D/s relationship that includes the activities in the acronym, to those who just want kinky, casual sex. Something for everyone!

For me, it's the way I express a great many overpowering emotions. All that love, and desire and occasionally negative ones like frustration and rage... they all seem to be caught behind floodgates. They threaten to overflow, and break out, destroying things in their path... but BDSM is a way of opening a small spillway, to lower the level, and conduct those feelings out a constructive channel.

It's an outlet for a lot of scary, antisocial feelings, and for some deeply beautiful ones too. If I didn't, I would probably become angry, resentful, and possibly even violent.

BDSM is my way of saying "No" to being a bad person.

BDSM for me is a really wonderful way for me to express all those yearnings that I have to please my partner. Whether it is serving him/her, or being under his control, or being beat by him, I want to please him.

If I get mine too, then that's a bonus!

The actual SM is more for me. I get a yummy endorphine rush from my masochism, and it is a catharisis (sp? yes I know I can't spell...don't flame me! LOL) for me.
