Now of course I do not mean that literally, I mean it figuratively.

This all stems from three facts. While this whole thing might be confusing in the beginning, but it will all come together soon. The smoking ban started it, in a way. I know I brought this up before but that thread is buried, so be it, but it was like "Just who was the first MF brainiac to figure out to burn something and sniff the smoke ?

I mean think about it, normally people tend to keep burning objects away from their face, wouldn't ya say ?

Now the second impetus for this thread, which admittedly probably will never serve any purpose except maybe to entertain a few and/or encourage some thought, is that I have written a story.

I cn't really call it a book but a guy goes 400 years into the future but he was a genius and did really well. Built all kinds of bondage shit. But what came to mind was that on the very first page of text in that story it says "pole vaulted 400 years into the future".

Which brings us to the core of the topic here. Who invented pole vaulting ? I mean did some stoopit MF take and figure out to do that or was it by accident ? I mean did some native of some bumfukt island somewhere go try to use too long of a spear, and like the tip hit the ground and he wound behind his prey ? (with the spear hopefully)

Now I could see that, and I think it probably should've been included in the movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy".

But, human nature being what it is, the possibility exists that someone figured pole vaulting out and wanted to do it. Probably weren't no olympics back then, just some crazy MF that probably would be locked up today.

Sheesh, I need to put my shoes on, I am down to one beer.

I took the subject line literally, and was going to respond 'Oedipus.'

Much as i enjoyed Yr Op Termyn8or, i do wonder who was the first MF?  There are at least two times in the bible when there are no women around apart from sisters and mothers; could such a thing really have happened?
