Maybe the route to go would be to ask her if the two of you could sit down for coffee in a few months.  I think she's going to need time to adjust to herself and how she's changed and her debilitation.  Having someone else around that she had a previous intimate relationship with might make that harder.  I don't know the woman though, you do.  You decide.  However, a nonthreatening meeting with no promises just to keep in touch down the road and not have this be a total loss on both of your parts is a suggestion you might consider.

I think this is very good advice.

I've mentioned before that my young daughter had a stroke in June this year. How she is now physically, and how she thinks and feels now, is very different now she's 5 months along the road. And 5 months is a very short time in terms of stroke-recovery. My daughter lost all confidence in her ability to be a mother to her own young child with all the responsibility it entails. She simply didn't think she could cope with it, but TIME is showing her that it's not always going to be this difficult.

Your Mistress may well feel very differently as her life begins to return to a semblance of normality, the vulnerability recedes and confidence slowly returns.

A word of encouragement....Knowing that her child would be taken care of, if she really couldn't manage it; taking the pressure off, so to speak, gave my daughter the space to realise that she really DID want to do it and perhaps she could.

You don't have to leap into anything.

thank you all for the advice and replies  they have helped me tremndously. i told Ma'am that i would always be here for Her and i meant every word of it. Time will only tell how things go and if She allows me to continue to play a part in Her life. Her physical states means nothing to me, i lov Her for who She is no matter what. If all She will allow of me is a friendship for now or even in the future i will accept it, but i do not want to not be part of Her life. i will stand by Her no matter what happens.

thank you all again  you have helped me gain some perspective and clarity on the situation
