what is an alpha slave and a beta slave?

Hello There,
I may be wrong, but to me it would be described as this..
An Alpha slave would be the Masters top slave or first slave of his house. she/he would be the one that has the ability to help lead and direct the other slaves in her/his poly family. Basically I am my Master's Alpha slave, he calls me his queen bee. If there are any other sub/slaves he plays with they have to accept I sleep in his bed every night. If we add a second live in slave she'll be able to join us in our bed, but she'll have a separate bedroom where she'll sleep most of the time. I also have been permitted by my Master to be able to give him my opinion of any women he considers for our Family. If I don't like them he's not willing to take them on.

The beta slave would be the second, third, etc... submissive member brought into a leather family. They not only would have to answer to the Master, but also submit to the desires of the other members in their leather family. Also the beta slave would usually not sleep in the Masters bed on a regular basis but as a special thing only from time to time. Basically this slave would have an opinion, but it would be considered by the Master and the Alpha slave together before actions would transpire based on the beta slaves requests or needs.

my understanding is that if you are involved in a poly with 2 slaves, and one is ref'd to as alpha/one/first etc, they are considered to be 'above' the beta/two/second in order or rank. this helps in situations where the alpha may not want to be submissive to the beta but wants a 'sister' or 'brother'. i've seen it in households where the alpha has tenure or seniority, a closer emotional bond w/owner, or just simply needs to feel they come first. the beta may be req'd to sub to alpha or may not depending on owner. the designation may also just be for play or scening instead of everyday. hope this helps.

I agree with the two of them. The alpha is usually in charge if there is any submissive to be in charge.
The only difference with me is....dominants who are not mine have asked me to train their submissives for them in the past.
I've yet to take one up on it...but it has happened a lot more than I feel comfortable with.

I agree with plant lady the alpha is often first in the relationship and has more experence. he /she is also usually involved in the process of picking out another submissive or slave in the family,But this is not always the case meaning there could be a slave and the alpha is brought in latter. I would also like to venture this is prob the dom/domme favorite and I have heard refer to as queens.

Generally- what they all said :)

Alpha/beta could be as simple as "first in my life and second in my life" nothing more or less.

Alpha/beta could be "alpha has extra responsibilities and privileges"

Alpha/beta could be "chain of command goes to the alpha first and then the beta"

Alpha/beta could be a ranking of experience.

As usual depends on the relationship- I find it takes a very unique personality to be fulfilled as a beta.

Alpha is the first submissive and beta I beleive would be a submissive you can test out and report any stuff ups or give it back....

I spend way too much time on the net.

i have not read all the rplys, sorry.

Basicaly an alpha slave is the one that is set higher on the rank ladder than the other slaves, she or he is his or her Master`s first, one that have autority over the other slaves.

i am not a dominant sub, but i have sadistic tendencis. my Dom would like to add alleast another sub to the household, and i would get to play whit her from time to time to, to enyoy my sadistic side. So i would say i am a sub that somtimes like to top.

i'm not sure if you were referring to a poly relationship you know of, or poly in general. my Master and i seek a second submissive, hoping to have a poly relationship. W/we view both submissives in that future poly relationship as equals (obviously, each having their own talents and skills that may make them more valuable at one specific thing than the other, but both having equal value in the relationship). Neither slave being in a more valuable role than the other.

Since this thread started...i asked a gal, whose Dom replied, to their defintion of alpha which is VERY different. He said ".... we do see and have a slightly different definition for the term Alpha slave.... there was a time, a couple years back, when meg was having a difficult time reconciling different parts of her personality. I asked her then, "Are you familiar with the hierarchy of a wolfpack? and of the Alpha Male, and female? The Alpha female leads. she is submissive to nobody, save one, the Alpha Male. you submit, and are expected to submit to nobody on this planet, except me. you are an Alpha female, an Alpha slave....."

Then i contacted a gal who said she was a domianant slave and she explained this way "... can be dominant in some ways but very weak in others .... is dominant when it comes to helping people out."
So i asked the same gal what an alpha slave was...her reply " that the slave is primary dominant"

Interesting isnt it how defintions change or differ depending on the individual and their experience or Dom. But neither gal said "switch."

Thank you for this little bit of wisdom slavedesires, that is a werry nice way to put it, it gives me alot to think aboute.
