Thanks KatieLied,

It does sound like they are close to some types of cabbage we have here. It was an interesting link, too. Even if they aren't the same, the recipes and ideas can easily be used with our cabbages.

I have a Norwegian friend whose Xmas Dinner is Sheeps Ribs and Cabbage., which has always appealed to me.

Exits stage left, after Horrible Hijack.

When we finally invested in a good one, hubby had one made, along with matching wrist and ankle cuffs. I have a thin neck and wrists and ankles, and he likes big thick cuffs because they look dramatically big on me, so he had a collar and cuffs that were originally intended more for a man modified to fit me. He ordered a heart-shaped dog tag engraved with "gorgeous" on it and that's attached to the collar. We had a little private ceremony to christen the collar, and it was a great time.

I obviously can't wear my collar out in public, so that is my "play collar" and since then, hubby gave me one to wear out in public, but that is also strong enough to play with. It's a thick heavy sterling silver chain that is almost choker length with a working lock from Tiffany & Co., and I love how all the Vanilla women compliment me on it. I've said this before, but I'll say it again, it's amazing what you can get away with if it's from Tiffany's!

We never really had a ceremony......he had already bought me a collar but had told me that to him it was really just a peice of jewelry for me to wear out to events and it didnt hold any significance to him, and about a year later he took it out again and put it on me and told me that from now on it was a collar and not just a necklace....we were alone...and there were lots of tears....and a rather long thread about it on CM even...lol.....and ron thought he was gonna ask for a rimjob.....

~edited to add that I "think" Im getting one of those eternity collars for christmas this year......~crosses fingers~

Yes, isn't it wonderful that certain people have no respect for others and their feelings and thoughts and no maturity and then they whine that their alone.
I must have missed something.. I didn't see any whining here.  Sure it got slightly off course now and then but nearly all the respondents mentioned how they were collared along with cooking tips. I thought it was actually a pretty interesting and low-key thread.. even reading it over I couldn't find any whining or lack of maturity.Unless it was the whining that some don't like collard greens?[8|]

Well, the poster you replied to was whining a bit, but i doubt that's what she meant. Guess some people have no sense of humor.

She very possibly felt ridiculed that everyone capitalized on her spelling error.

To answer the OP, I did not have a ceremony.  He used me very hard, and afterward as I was kneeling and exhausted, he put my collar around my neck and I thanked him.  It was emotional for me but then I tend to be sappy anyway :)

i suppose that means i shouldn't point out the incorrect use of "their"....[8|]

I love greens....Don't really dig collars....Think they look trashy.  But greens are yummy....Have had them cooked with a ham hock or immersed in other fatty crap....It is amazing that people have found a way to cook the unwanted portion of a root vegetable and manage to produce a tasty meal that will clog your heart in about two mouthfuls.  But they are fucking tasty.

Collars suck. But then again if you cooked a collar in some fatty pork for a few hours I might suddenly be rather smitten with the damn thang.

Yes I have been collared in a lovely special moment between the two of us.

I love collard greens and I make them damn good too!

If it floats your boat, which apparently it does.

Does anyone besides me think that collars look like shit?  They just seem really trashy.

LPslittleclip -> RE: If you are collard (12/8/2007 4:10:19 PM)

my M'Lady wanted a formal ceremony but W/we had a simple exchange since W/we are a poly family she gave my collar to her Bob and i accepted it from him and she placed it around my neck. i would  like a more formal one when my wife visits but ill wait and see for that. its not the ceremony but the respect of the collar thats importaint

arayofsunshine55 -> RE: If you are collard (12/8/2007 8:30:08 PM)

We went away for a few days.  At some point in the mix of hurting and fucking me he asked me to get the box.  He said some very sweet heartwarming things.  I responded in kind.  He went back to hurting and fucking me.  [:)]

Dear, you may want to consider  collard,  as any good southern girl knows, is a green leafy vegetable best served with ham of ANY sort really, and no ceremony is necessary.

Sir's very much owned devoted uncollared property, who doesnt need a vegetable around my neck to know who I belong too.

When I collared Angel, there was a good bit of fuss, he and I discussed it and he begged me to make it sooner than I had planed becasue of our distance. It was a private thing, just he and I, but we had a few short things planned to say t one another, and he knelt to accept it and had to swear to give himself to me. It was quite pretty, and it madehim more comfortable in the months we had to be apart before I moved.

When I collared Fox, he was snuggled against me. He had no idea I was even thinking about a collar yet.  He had been having some issues with security, and was worried that things with he and I werent going to wor out for varous reasons. I simply leaned to his ear, kissed it, put the collar around his neck and asked "Are you mine?" I never did get a verbal answer, but the tears pretty much cemented it for me. I held him until he was composed again and then let him head back home.

I think that the situation with Fox is the sweetest thing i've heard yet. I'm in a relationhip right now, but not physically collared yet, and i think when the time comes i would FOR SURE want it to happen like that!!  How very sweet....=]

I petitioned my Sir and his slave and got a temporary collar after I discussed everything with my therapist. Then after the first month my Sir's slave made my collar.  Both of those times they were put on my neck by her.  It meant a lot to me that she put it on because it felt like she was saying that she loved me enough to share her Master.
