This is not so much bdsm but thought i would ask the community at large for help.
No not monitary help i have a tough time taking charity .here is the situation :thanks for reading .
I like many out there have been hit very hard  with bills  both everyday and medical ,now my spouse needs another operation and for the most part insurance should again cover the bulk atleast , i am thankful we are covered .BTW CANCER SUCKS  fuck cancer !
I have been buying through out the year gifts for my child so she shall have plenty to open .I often have to buy  when i have some money as i work for myself and it is not  steady money 100% of the  time .So good planning for the kiddie on my part .
Now with the holidays fast approaching i shall look into the crystal ball and i know i shall have zero funds for gifts for freinds and family i know also i can not even afford the holiday cards this year to send out and spread well wishes nor could i afford the postage  anyway .I am a lil bummed about that  but that is not why i am asking  for your ideas and help , those people can and  should be able to atleast understand .
Now  what really gets me is the  spouse / one that accepts me for who i am and freely   lets me take my path down bdsm lane ,the one who is going through all the cancer garbage  and now get to have yet another operation ,i can not buy her the gifts .Ooooh boy this is tough to express in public my feelings  but i felt i had to give  some background  for the help.
Now the simple help question : What could i do or get her for a gift any and all serious ideas welcome ,maybe something could be made ?
Thanks for reading and helping  with this situation .
brightest blessing one and all .

Does she like poetry? If so, then look up several love poems online, and print them out; in between each one, write some things to her from your heart.

Buy some nice flowers at Wal-Mart, they are fairly inexpensive.

Top it all off by cooking her a good meal.

And good luck dealing with the cancer.

How about printing out little notes for free back rubs,  I home cooked dinner cooked by you, etc.

One simple thing that could mean more than any amount of money you could spend on a gift write her a letter and put a bow on it.  Tell her just how much she means to you.  Tell her all the things that come hard when you are together.

For after you make that lovely dinner Level suggested....

Take a trip to the library (or hop online) and find a book on massage for relaxation.  Take some time and help her de-stress for a little while.

Thanks ALL for the thoughts and well wishes and ideas thus far .I know the massage idea is always a great one but with all her surgical things she has gone through  it shall be a long while before a rub down will take place .Although a footrub is always a grand thing  maybe adding  some reflexology to the  mix !As far as something cheap that would be great if i had any money at all or some comming in the future .
This is and has been extreamly tough for me . The simple act of reaching out and telling what is going on opening up and revealing and asking for ideas for one who deserves the  best gifts ever , ooh boy  i thought it would be easy to blog out my tale and ask for ideas .THANKS AGAIN those are some grand ideas  and i shall  be taking them to make the best gift i can .I value your thoughts ,well wishes and ideas  more than i can express and thank you .warm smiles

One thought that comes to mind is to buy an inexpensive scrapbook and fill it with all sort of wonderful things. Some off-the-top-of-my-head ideas:

-- photos of your family
-- mementos of favorite moments in your life (postcards from trips, concert tickets, you get the idea)
-- drawings by your UM
-- letters from your friends and family
-- snippets of poetry (to borrow from Level)
-- a list of 10 favorite memories
-- a list of 10 things you love about your wife
-- a list of 10 hopes for the future
-- prayers (if you're so inclined)
-- lyrics of favorite songs

Some ideas from another thread:

Yes, he can do all the cooking and cleaning for the relatives that will be coming over, fetch her books from her fav author from the library, draw her a bath, light some candles and let her stay there until they all leave.
