The World's Most Corrupt Countries

David A. Andelman 04.03.07, 6:00 PM ET

" Corruption in nearly half the world's nations is not getting much better and, indeed, in many countries is intensifying--affecting virtually every aspect of life among peoples on every continent.

While a year ago, some 72 out of 158 nations surveyed by the international watchdog group Transparency International were classified as "corrupt," now 74 of 163 countries fall into the same category. A few, most notably India, managed to bootstrap themselves (just barely) out of the truly corrupt group, while others, particularly Iran, dug themselves more firmly into that camp.

TI has developed an index from 0 to 10 comprised of surveys of specialists, opinion leaders, business officials and human rights monitors who live, work or travel extensively in each of the countries ranked. The higher the score, the less corrupt the country. Tied for No. 1 this year, with a CPI “score” of 9.6 are Finland, Iceland and New Zealand. At the bottom, with a score of 1.8 is Haiti. "

Corruption and Disilliusionment is the base principal for any government. (take a look at America) Shouldn't every Nation of the world get to have there own Greedy Redneck Moron run their country? After all its working so well for the US?

So what if Nigeria has a new ruler every other week. Who cares if Third World Insurges invade a foregin land for their oil? I mean their just following in the foot steps of the "greatest" Country in the world.*laughes histericaly till coughing insues then stops to catch breath while trying not to laugh*

Ok couldn't say that with a striaght face, but the point is all people are greedy at their core. Sad but true, thats life get over it.

Not really.  Chavez claims that the oil of his country belongs to the people and is helping them come out of poverty by keeping oil money in venezuela rather than sending it to the us then getting loans from the us.

Wouldnt it be nice if he set up our monetary system so we didnt have to pay the federal reserve then get all our money on e a loan from them?
