That video is several years old now, I know Rookie retired may have passed on now, there are several good videos on dog dance, but they are the most famous of the dog human dance teams to date, and lessons in dog dance started initially in Canada expanded to the US and today is even taught in europe and asia pretty much all over the world now. Only way to achieve that is too motivate with positive reward training using clicker training and teaching targeting , discipline base training methods will never acheive the level motivation or trust required to perform that way. The other name for dance training is canine freestyle and I find some of the men and dog teams have really creative dance routines and are extremely fun to watch

I have a chinese crested that I think could be excellent at as he has a lot of speed and jumping ability and does pick up things pretty fast and would be good for him as well as he could use more time away from the rest of my dogs to do one on one work with me but I simply do not have the time to dedicate plus my work hours do not work well with scheduling lessons with the dog trainer I would want to use for the foundation work, had my workplace decide to do rotational layoffs instead of one large mass layoff I would have had the time off needed to put into training but I do enjoy watching especially some of the longer range dance work

Did you see how tuned in they were?

Sad to think it`s gone(I`ve lost one myself).They just don`t last long...

I have lost several dogs over the years even when they are only with you a short time it does not get any easier Last one I lost was a greyhound I adopted at 7 1/2 years old and lost her 18 months later to bone cancer, she ended up being the toughest losses for me as I had to work extremely hard with her to build up trust to help her overcome her fear of people, so an extremely close bond was formed during that time, and to honor her memory adopted another that had even more fear issues that would have had very little chance of being adopted and had to make a 1300 mile journey to her new home and arrived here Valentines Day less than 2 months after losing Callie, in exactly 1 month to this day it will be the 5 year aniversary since she passed away. and the first image that comes to me now is her comical pogoing up and down on those long skinny legs to greet me when I would come home from work. So I understand how painful your loss was to you and the beauty of watching the bond between Rookie and his owner
