Mc Donalds  has alot of things that taste like dog food , but Iam not sure how safe it is

Shawn1066 -> RE: Pet food for people. (11/30/2007 2:57:53 PM)

As a former McDonald's employee, I can tell you that our fine products are made with tender loving care and nothing tastes like dogfood.  We offer a ride array of tasty affordable meals, and even healthy alternatives to our regular menu such as a fruit and walnut snack salad among other things.

Also...we don't supersize anymore, so quit asking!

...

Yeah, I was a little brainwashed.  I'll admit it. :-p

tigerlilly34 -> RE: Pet food for people. (11/30/2007 3:05:33 PM)

90 percent of the menu isn't even real legitimate food with all the chemicals that are put into the stuff. and i do know for a fact that there are chemicals in their food that make you become addicted to it. stop eating the stuff if your a regular or heavy consumer of the stuff and your body actually goes thru a withdrawal process similar to that of a drug addict. if you have ever been addicted to soda you will understand this all to well.

Ick, I had it everyday for my lunch break.  Believe me, it was easy to get rid of and I started bringing my own lunch. :-p

Not a personal fan of fast food, actually...I just work it from time to time.

I just think McDonald's food gets a bad rep because it's...well...McDonald's food.  It's fast food.  You get what you pay for.  It's cheap, passable food that's put together via an assembly line.  Some of it happens to be rather tasty...and some of it is best passed on (Like chicken sandwhiches, imo.).  It's not all bad.  What you lose in quality, you make up for in quanity and, most of all, convienience.  Oh, and cute happy meal toys. :-p

Everybody who eats fast food probably have a good idea of what they're getting into...  If you want really good food, then you have to wait a little longer than fast food requires.  However, in this day in age, people can't even stay still long enough to cook thier own food, much less wait in a crowded resturant for half an hour.

...God, why am I towing the company line.  They're not paying me  anymore... :-p

Ronald is always watching you.

I'd agree I'd say its no more addicting than anything else in the world, if you think its chemicals that make you addicted to it, sorry but I dont exactly buy that arguement, I had to eat it for 3 months when in highschool once for lunch everyday, and believe me i was only to happy to shuck it and eat other things whenever possible.  As for the clown...he is just...creepy..

SweetDommes -> RE: Pet food for people. (11/30/2007 5:12:37 PM)

Most clowns are creepy ...

I spent one whole day working for McD's ... and that was more than enough.  I was 16 (nearly 30 now) and I can count on one hand the number of times I've eaten at a McD's since then.

BootBlackBlast -> RE: Pet food for people. (11/30/2007 6:50:04 PM)

Even my dog gets better food most of the time than I do. His food is organic and comes from a small holistic and organic dog food company. And even then that's only when I haven't had time to make him food of his own. I usually cut up a rotisserie chicken or two each week, mix it with my leftover steamed rice from various meals, and add a small amount of reduced sodium chicken broth and he's a happy and healthy dog. We use the natural balance rolls cut into small pieces for training and he's constantly getting treats during training. There's all kinds of things one can make for their bi-ped pups that is healthy for them. I get the best performances out of my boypups when they know that I love and respect them. Playing mind games with them only turns them off. But YMMV

tigerlilly34 -> RE: Pet food for people. (11/30/2007 6:58:33 PM)

My current owner manufactures food processing equipment and is in the plants and knows exactly what goes in the food he has been in the industry for over 25 years so when i say i know what is in the food being served i do i also worked in the food industry for over 8 years myself so i am very well educated into what is put into our food. I cook my food from scratch a rare thing these days. most people only know how to pop something in the microwave let alone follow a recipe good luck on that. There are just some things corporate america does because of there bottom line and if we as a society are too stupid to see what is realy going on then shame on us as a whole.

Evangers and Merricks dog food is safe for human consumption.

Our McDonalds locks up their garbage to keep the winos away attempting to get a free meal.  When you actually have to lock up garbage to keep people from eating it, how safe can it be?  And the rest of us pay for it!!

That was really funny, rubberpet!

LadyHugs -> RE: Pet food for people. (12/2/2007 8:24:54 AM)

Dear ready4srvce4all, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I am of the opinion, that the reasons behind McDonalds and other fast food providers, locking up their garbage bins is due to the liability issues and insurance's demands as to fit under their terms of liability.

With an increasing homeless population, many a homeless person have crawled into dumpsters and fall asleep and do not get out when the garbage is picked up by trash trucks that have grinders to mash and chew things up, making more space for refuge/garbage/rubbish.  Humans are chewed up, mashed and crushed.  Nobody really notices as they are nameless faces to us however, for those who do notice and family who know where their 'kin' live in homeless conditions--especially during bad weather--they're the ones who sue McDonalds, etc.  We have had several cases through the years in Washington, DC.

In addition, there are people who are looking to get money out of companies like McDonalds.  Having no common sense, these customers get hurt--who pays? McDonalds, etc., in turn we have to pay with higher prices because a few think companies are an ATM machine for instant money--same for other companies.  Some purposefully do things as to cash in --in a law suit.  We have had many a fake accident and file claims incidents in the local news in the past, as to 'sue' and get money.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

I find food manipulation very exciting, certainly eating canned pet food.

A very hardcore female sadist of mine who is squicked by almost nothing works in food quality control. She told me that because of what she knows about its manufacture having a slave it canned pet food was something she would not consider.

Given what she does enjoy doing to me I was very much set aback. Though it may just be an odd bit of fastidiousness on her part.

Shawn1066 -> RE: Pet food for people. (12/2/2007 3:34:15 PM)

Well, there's a difference between being sadistic and being unsafe.  If she believes feeding her slaves petfood would be seriously bad for them, then obviously that should take precedence over her sadism.

MrrPete -> RE: Pet food for people. (12/2/2007 3:47:51 PM)

try canned haggis from Caledonia Kitchens. just Google it.

Their Haggis has won awards in Scotland so it is quite safe.

Looks very much like pet food but is much firmer. Firm enough
to slice

I lost 80 lbs on the Purina Diet, before I woke up one day in the Intensive Care Unit.

It's a really great, and simple diet.  All you do is fill your pockets with kibbles every morning, then whenever you get hungry just eat a few of them.

As for how I wound up in the ICU, it wasn't the Purina.

I got hit by a car while I was sitting in the road licking my balls.

There is nothing wrong with eating actual dog food. It might taste nasty if you get the wet kind but in reality the protine and vitamins in dog food is the same that humans have.

Absolutely not,  one of the biggest risks is salmonella poisoning  because a dogs digestive tracts are shorter than  humans they can handle higher levels of salmonella  that is often found  4D meats which is unfit for human consumption and is used instead for dog food

I did not know about safety issues regarding pet food and would have thought nothing of it upon hearing someone was using it in play. I appreciate posts by Maya2001, MstrssPassion and others who are informed about the matter and shared their knowledge.

For other posts, I sometimes have a WTF reaction when I see a post that makes an uninformed assertion as if it is informed--it affects that person's overall credibility.

Cheers,

Sea

Try campbell soup at room temprerature. Get it out from the can directly to dogs plate, looks nasty, doesnt taste that good when is cold, and it has this nasty look. :D  perfect and safe combination!!

You can even try chicken cream that has little pieces of chicken.
