From the link..

What a bastard.  We should all teach the kids about God, so, as adults, they can make the heart wrenching decision to embrace an obvious lie or suffer the truama of debasing a foundation of their world view.  Let's not let education get in the way of our children's future!

The next thing you know they will be claiming that Disney classics like 'Fantasia' promote drug use.....oh yeah that's right, that already happened.  I just wonder who has time to sit around watching movies to see if there is anything remotely offensive in them.  Whoever they are I want to thank them, because I would have never thought of dropping a tab of acid when I took a second look at Fantasia.  It made the film so much better in my opinion.

Maybe they kept the church bit out, to make the film just an enjoyable fantasy for all.

Those that are complaining really ought to just go and get a life, they have an option, watch it or don't, simple as that, is it really their business to advise others not to see something because they do not agree?

Perhaps that may become an unwritten rule in movies to come, no axe grinding against any belief. An individual's spirituality is something an individual should find for themselves, not really be influenced by a movie.

Religion sometimes really does suck!

I doubt that will happen... not all writers and directors are that easily bought.  I believe movies and any artform influences people - spiritual, political etc.  I believe that's a cool thing.

And I disagree that religion sometimes suck - this isn't the religion it's people.  Start blaming religon isntead and your passing the buck and responsibilty.

I always think that these types of efforts to boycott backfires on the groups whose aim is to limit exposure to the film.
People see the conflict, get curious, and go when they might not have in the first place.

Can't wait to see it myself.

Quite honestly, I was intrigued to see the film, but with all the edits they have supposedly made and the fact that they are using the 'wrong' title - that is more of a reason for not wanting to see it now than any group of people telling me what I should or shouldn't see.  I am pretty disappointed Pulman caved and slightly surprised he did.

Maybe one day Hollywood will make a factual film and actually leave in the facts.

History, it`s not what it used to be.
