As an aside:  I am NOT baiting here, but I've seen pictures and videos, and of course stories from My perfect guy, of dead/dying soldiers and it is NOT noble. Perhaps symbolically, but it's some of the saddest and sickening sights ever.

I guess you don't quite understand...His act of volunteering for his country and going to war, however was a noble act.  To say our soliders are not noble and brave regardless of what the administration does, is just foolish.

         Thanks for the link, DC.  The original email that sent me off to find the Snopes link also said it was the Anthem.  More than one version circulating, perhaps?

      I'm also kind of curious for other posters to educate me about which religions require intentional disrespect to the flag?  I'm not talking about yarmulkes or veils here.  Snarkism?  Superiority Complexianism?

I understand, but I only wrote as such because earlier you said that his death was noble - right?
But I think, as you expanded here, that you meant that his volunteering and service was commendable and noble.
