ORIGINAL: OldBastardly1 Well, isn't that just lovely........[sm=hair.gif] OP, the majority of first meetings will not result in a connection. Most of the time, one or both of you will decide that you are not a good match. Usually, if the sub is not somebody that I already know, I will exchange a few emails, IMs, phone calls first. Then, if all is going well, I will suggest a meeting at a local function, a munch or at the local dungeon. After that meeting we decide if we want to pursue any deeper involvement, perhaps a dinner date, to allow quality 1 on 1 conversation. I prefer the 1st meeting to be very casual, not even a "date". from the sub's side, i agree with this method. Daddy and i exchanged many emails, and hours of IM's before the first phone call...then probably 10 hours of phone calls (total over a week or more) before we met in person. i've done casual meets at a mcdonalds and sat for an hour or so talking to see where things might go, that just really didnt connect. its like any other process in finding a partner, sometimes you're going to click, sometimes you arent. i went into things with low expectation on first meets, *knowing* that i'm difficult due to illness, and had to find someone who would be very understanding of me, and didnt expect to meet someone whom i fit with right away. i was ungodly fortunate, it took me less than a month. kitten, thoughtfully
