greetings

i watch a show today that was scary as hell , they had many man who rule the woman of the place with fear and telling them the world would end and has twenty childern . they have several men who did this and it was so shocking i felt so bad for the woman . my question is would anyone of the slaves or submissive go for this and would you stay and have childern with a man like this, by the time the woman saw something was wrong the kid had grown to teens and would not leave with their parents it was a shocking show and i did not know so many were out there like this. io wonder if they have anyone in the Goran group like this at all /. and this is not to insult anyone of the male in the master group or the Goran group i want to know. this is why i don't and can not be a submissive to scare ,

you asked if the slaves or submissives would go for this and stay and have children....but you asked on the Ask a Master forum....you would have gotten a better response on the Ask a Submissive/Slave forum, but there are rules against cross posting....

as for why someone would stay with a man like this, i would suggest reading up on cults and cult leaders as that does not sound like the lifestyle as we, on these boards, typically live it (yes i recognize that it is a sterotype) but rather a cult-type leader...

I agree with chelle,  this sounds like something totally different to a consensual BDSM relationship.

I do wonder how a woman would not notice anything until her kids were in there teens though.

If she's talking about the polygamist splinter sex of Mormons, it's because they are about 14 when they are forced into marriage and they come from these same type of homes. They have no education above 8th grade and no family to escape to.

It's not uncommon in parts of the third world either that females simply have no option. Education isn't free and families won't spend the money on girls.

the Professor used to say, the way to swallow a camel is one bone at a time, this is the way following anyone into an extreeme life is done,.... blindness to please, expectation of complete and full "trust"... ridicule that you are some how less if you can't see it or feel it or accept it... that you are out of the "norm" and that need to fit in, to please, and to follow with complete devotion devoid of common sense is not an uncommon thing in cults or households of strong belief, religious or political or lifestyle choices...

Professor also use to say that a man will give up everything (home, family, ect.) to be respected ... and a woman will give up  respect to have everything (as long as her little nest is safe, she will subject herself to all kinds of degredation)

This is not true of all, but of many.... offered in my humble thoughts.

In addition to reading up on cult structure and history, look into the mentality of victims who stay in abusive relationships.

Mons,

Stop watching daytime television.  It's like eating nothing but junk food for your brain, and it's not healthy for you.

Damn... when I saw "sue religion" in the title, I was intrigued. Combining religion and law, two of my favorite topics, sounded like a sure-fire winner.

Oh well.

I saw the same show and it was disturbing to say the least. As for your question there is hopefully no manipulation going on in a "healthy" D/s relationship. When people like that show up in the lifestyle its not about consent for them its about sociopathic behavior and should not be confused with consensual D/s.

Many who use fear have issues that run deeper than most of us can comprehend; what the OP is describing sounds very much like a cult [bites tongue and doesn't name the biggest one in the US at the moment].  Having many children is a common way for these Cult Leaders to 'control' women and entire families, since a good mother will NOT leave without her children, I know I would rather die than leave my munckin in a place I knew was unsafe.

Those tv shows will make you paranoid, just like if you read and believed every medical journal.
