if clothespins are too much, the clips that you get for food bags with magnets that are like 4 for a $1 at most dollar stores, and i have also found them at walgreens and other drug stores are a good alternative, they spread out the sensation on more flesh, and the big chip bag clips are good for pussy lips...

I've found that the wooden clothespins are very adjustable if you bend out the coil inside. This definitely destroys the clothespins but they are cheap. If you want a set of about the same intensity you might use two rulers to over extend several pins an identical amount.

Here is a site for homemade toys from the site the frugal domme, several good ideas like a flogger(discipline) made using leather boot laces , or a rubber flogger made with a dowel and a bicycle inner tubes,. spreader bars made from wooden dowels and eye screws
