Hi im also a sub that likes receiving the cane as discipline but not punishment. From my experiences the persons knowledge of how to adapt there strokes depending on the senario or subs response is probably as important as the actual canes themselves. Also if wrapping isnt desired then accuracy is very important as is body position..its not nice receiving a hard blow from the cane which wraps and skids around your thighs and also too high is a definate danger zone. I have received lots of hard strokes in a session with a thicker diameter cane which is a heavier deeper blow and left me with visable bruising for 10 days especially on the upper thighs but didnt even come close to breaking the skin. On another occasion i was caned with a similar or even harder intensity but with a thinner whippy cane and i ended up with several skin cuts on my bottom but virtually no bruising to speak of..and the cuts were gone within a week to ten days also. Now i know that my butt doesnt mark that easily or so ive been told by a couple of different people but i feel this is the kind of result that you will get with the different diameters..just to add these were all rattan canes. And which cane session did or do i enjoy the most?...ive come to the conclusion that if im going to be caned for a long period and firmly that a combination of both thin and thicker canes does give me a nice range of pain sensations especially if they are given randomly! I hope you both have many pleasurable caning experiences together! adrian
