Sorry Ron.
Pub watch is a scheme where people who are barred from one pub in an area automatically become barred from all in that area. Works quite well.
Also if your pub has any problems, drugs, fighting, licencing hours etc you need this police man on your side. Whilst i dont have these problems as such in mine id still quite like to keep him on side in case of future problems.

Having owned a club previously, I'm assuming this is the UK's version of a proactive community policing relationship with Pub owners and their respective employees.

I'd go in there heavily organized, with a yellow legal pad and take notes, assuring him and making him understand that you want to work with him... not against him. Get him to think that you operate from a proactive mindset and not a reactive one. Remember....your dealing with alchohol and intoxicated persons....you can't be reactive. ; }

And yes.....I'd dress casual but conservative.

Good luck...

- R

I agree UtopianRanger; your post makes great sense.

MissT... I wouldn't necessarily overdress or even dress professionally if that's not going to be your style while you're working your pub. I would dress with your work style and let your professionalism and determination to the cause be the factor that gets you noticed by the police as one who'd like for this program to work.

If only we had that type of program where I worked twenty years ago...

Best of luck.
