The day I met my ex, I was walking down Broadway, and 2 drunk guys came out of a bar and tried to hit on me, about 3/4s of a short block away from where he was standing, and I waved them off and felt confident and sexy (I should pay them to show up to future first meets), and when he saw me, under his breath, he said "Wow." That "wow" that he didn't think I heard, that meant SO much to me. He almost never complimented my appearance, but I always felt sexy and attractive with him. In my ideal, I think words tend towards the softer, warmer, sweeter as actions get rougher. If it is all rough and harsh and stern, I kind of run away emotionally.
