Ok, so I'll admit it.... I'm not sure exactly what subspace is other than I think I've been there after some hard fucking with my Sir. I'm sure it's different for everyone but maybe those of you with some experience can shed some light on the subject (excuse me if this is one of those non-stop thread topics). What do you feel like/experience when in subspace? what brought this up for me was yesterday! I was by myself and well... lets just say I had a really good time with me, myself and I [:D] I felt so darn good.... I was buzzing for the next hour. Since I'm inexperienced in actual participation... I can only quote an explanation I've heard before. I don't remember it verbatim, but it was said that entering subspace was like getting into a really good book. You may be in an uncomfortable position when you're reading it, but you don't notice until the book is closed and find your back stiff (ie. or you've taken more of a flogging than you expected.)

Like you said, probably different for different people. When I get myself off or have vanilla sex, I get a good afterglow after a good orgasm, feeling warm, happy, tingly all over. Subspace is more than that for me. I feel owned, taken care of, pushed so close to the edge that I am alive all over and could fall except for the guy I trust so much. Afterglow is always good, but subspace is amazing. Sometimes all it takes to be in subspace for me is him grabbing my hair the right way, or growling in my ear when he passes me, or just barely touching my neck for a few seconds. I am his, totally. If Master and I are playing, i can usually feel a shift in my mind when i go into subspace. It feels like i am floating above myself, looking into my own eyes. I would say for me is is also an alternate subspace i can shift into outside of play, which can be triggered simply by a word or a gesture. This puts me a very focussed state where i am at one with Master's needs, where i am at one with him. --Master's {girl}

Don't know. I have heard so much about it but, not sure I have ever felt the mystical shit. I do know that there is thing between pain and pleasure that rocks. I . know I get lost. I can't see, I might float, hell I don't know. I sure as hell can't talk. Its like some ......................one long drawn out moan. It just pulsates through me, in and out. I don't know if that qualifies. But its ok in my book. If that ain't it, well, then, I guess there is something to look forward to. Cause I was perfectly fine with that.

It depends on what you mean by "alone". I was not at home with my owner, but we were on the phone together, and she was able to talk me into an absolutely wonderful orgasm (yes there was some self stimulation involved). While it was nearly as intense as when we are together, it was still incomparably better than before I was in her service, and while it may not have been a 'deep subspace', I do think that I was there. That being said.. if you are truely alone, yes, you probably could achieve the same state yourself, I mean, after all it is a state of mind. What it would take for you is something only you could answer though, if it was thoughts about your Dom acting on you, or just your service to them, or replaying an intense scene in your head, or even just their particular scent or taste. Depending on how you react to it though, I'm not sure I would reccomend being by yourself. I was, frankly, a little worried as I (kind of) know how I react, and I know if I had really let go I could have gone a ~lot~ deeper, but I had to reign myself back a bit because there wasn't anyone close-by and I didn't feel like trying to explain how I got hypothermic to the paramedics. : D

Thanks to everyone who commented on this subject. The only way I can describe how I feel when I feel that I'm in subspace "with my Sir" is the following.... He and I share special time after playing hard. During that time, I am pretty much "out of reality" I'm in this zone of smiling (when I don't realize I'm doing it) staring off into space as I gently stroke my Sirs back or chest, and I am incredilby content. For me I just tend to feel really really happy. I just want to cuddle with Valyraen and snuggle him. If I played a longer scene and got really high, I will just giggle and sit on the carpet for awhile.
