For me, it depends on the time and place. If it's mid-December and a clerk says "Happy Holidays," I usually say that back. (Though I confess I'm always tempted to say "And a blessed Advent to you too!" given Christmas doesn't actually start till 12/25.) If it's close to Christmas, I usually say "Merry Christmas."

i tend to say go the fuck away.........not really, i tend to repeat whatever the person im talking to says, so as to not piss anyone off. granted it would be fun.......hmmmm.........maybe ill just start throwing all the different ones out there just for the shear sport of it. wonder how many i can piss off...........sounds like a new game to me. lmao

Most often I just say, "Merry Christmas", but I also say "bah humbug" too.. and sometimes, "Feliz Navidad" and even "Happy Kwanza" too... [:D]

I dont mind Christmas much at all, for me its basically thanksgiving where you get free shit. I could do away with some of the cheesy shit, but otherwise it's okay.

I'm a 'happy holidays' sort. There is no religious aspect during this season for me and I'm aware of the fact that there are a gajillion different meanings for the gajillion different people so I think it covers most of the bases.For me it is a season of different holidays....................................so Happy Holidays Everyone! May you have the chance to enjoy friends & family, share love & memories. Revive old traditions & make new ones.

when i was working retail, my response was generally "and a happy ho-ho's to you too!" i still say that occasionally. but this is the second year in a row that i'm flat out refusing to do anything with. kitten, who is seriously considering starting drinking about sundown the 24th and not stopping till the 26th.
