SirSauvage -> Where to make a public blog ? (12/9/2007 11:43:12 PM)

Hi all
As part of a humiliation assignment, I've asked my sub to set up a blog about what she does every day, including (explicit) pics.
Problem is, she can't find any site to make a real blog which also accepts 'adult' content.
Does anybody have a good suggestion, short of making her own website ?

thanks,
SirSauvage

Depending on relative content, Bondage.com has blogging space as does ALT.com.

Oh there are plenty of adult blogs on blogger and wordpress, complete with explicit photography.  I got a real photographical education about figging from one blog...

http://www.thumblogger.com/

or browse somewhere like here

http://www.adultblogdirectory.com/

http://adultbloghub.com/

look at a tonne of blogs and figure out where they are hosting theirs.

Though I've never posted explicit content-- Live Jounal has features for posting adult content warnings on posts and dictating if the public or just friends of your choosing can see your posts.

So if her employer finds the pics and fires her, are you willing to support her until she can find a new job? Because those kinds of pics are frequently in violation of morality clauses. Certainly if she's a teacher, she would be lucky to keep her job. If she's an accountant and has a conservative church as one of her clients, being outed to them could lose her the account. Running for public office in ten years and the pics show up, there goes that.

I use livejournal, and I post explicit pics from time to time, I have never had a problem

i use livejournal also...
you can lock it down and make posts in a number of ways, public, friends only, groups and private. pictures are not a problem and you can get some public viewing by adding friends from communities that have similar interests, there are a few BDSM communities on there. Believe me there will be loads of ppl who will enjoy the content.

There are two solutions to that.

1.  Lock the blog so that only  those you specify can view it.  I use blogger and I can dictate who can and cannot view the blog, I believe wordpress has the same option.

2.  Nobody said explicit had to include facial shots, or photos of anything that could be identifying, or if the photo does include the face then simply crop it out.

thanks for the suggestions

And for those who worry about my sub's (future) safety, it was not my intention to put any identifiable information on a public site.

I use live journal as well. I don't post things publicly, but I do get pretty explicit and have never had a problem. There are only about 40 people who can read it, however.

No matter if the site or entry can be marked "private" or not, the real rule of thumb (ROT) is:

Once it's on the internet, it's public information for whomever would like to hack it.

Also, even if you lock the post in LJ, if you've used photobucket to hold the picture, those pictures are NOT locked. You MUST use the LJ galleries and LOCK THOSE in order for the picture to be locked. Still, see ROT.
