You might think about replying to their "ad" or their discription.
Starting a conversation and see where it goes from there.

You are serious aren't you? I mean you're not just working our all these basic questions which even the most inexperienced person could figure out, and posting them to take the "Mickey" out of us ???????????

This is what I would do:

1. Check out all the profiles for ones, which match your requirements.
2. Make a short list of the ones you want to contact.
3. Message the people on your short list. (I’d do this slowly as it is a tad difficult vetting several at once).
4. Get to know them first and then suggest a coffee meeting.
5. You can also give your email address in these messages.
6. Let nature take it’s course.

Ummmmm, maybe you actually want to put a profile on the other side, so when you email them, they have something to look at, and actually be able to answer your emails, if you send any??

Okay, I'm taking you at your word that you're new and asking a lot of honest questions. Here's the best way I know to answer a lot of them in one place. Buy one of the following books.

The New Topping Book by Dossie Easton
SM101 by Jay Wisemen

Both have entire sections devoted to answering basic questions such as those you've been asking, I think you'll find them helpful. Last I checked both were available through Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com

And I'll mention The Loving Dominant, even though I haven't read it yet just cause the author happens to visit these forums

What group? this group? E-mail them and tell them you may be interested in them. Get to know them as a friend, chat, communicate and see if it goes as far as meeting.

If it does make it a very public place. No play...just chat. A munch for instance.
Just two people meeting as if it would be a job interview.

See how that goes...if it goes well progress as you would any vanilla relationship from there.

Interestingly enough, you have already made a good start here by showing that you are serious. I know I gave you a hard time at the beginning and you replied as I had hoped you would. Get involved in the discussions even if you don’t know much, you will still be interacting and learning. I did this and it does take me a while before I wade in to any new place. (Even my friends and family truly have no idea what a shy person I can be. Mostly I’d prefer the deserts or wilderness but that’s just me.) I have made friends who do message me often and we toss crap at each other or privately discuss issues. I’ll warrant that more sub/slaves read the posts here than you imagine too.. It is all about you being seen here in this site. In three words….
GO FOR IT!

I see you do not have a profile on http://www.collarme.com

If you want to meet someone from here, create a profile. This will allow you to send onsite email to the person you are interested in.

It looks like maybe he came to the forums without seeing the profile side of CM. You can also get there by clicking the black box at the top of the page that says Collarme.com.
