Okay, so His birthday does approach.. as I am an artist, I was considering adding some fine beadwork around the handle of a professionally made flogger. Two questions:

1. What sort of flogger would be appreciated most? ( what is your personal pref?)
2. Is this really a gift for me? LOL

Well, there was a good thread on tribute in ask a Mistress that said the best tribute is one from the heart and soul, or so I gleaned.........what are his favorite colors for example? Anything that could be beaded in terms of a dragon? (thats right it's something to do with dragon right, or am I senile?)

Perhaps he will get you a toaster or something for your birthday. (re: is it for me?)

Just make sure the beading won't fly off during a hard scene or interfere with the grip. Otherwise go for it...even better, a matched decorated set!

And it most certainly can also be a gift for you :)

It depends on your Master's preference, but to me, having my submissive present me with the type of flogger that SHE would like would be a very sweet and thoughful gift. It gives him some insight into your tastes as well, in case he didn't know before. I wonder if beads on the actual part of the grasped part of the handle might not make it slippery....

Perhaps a clever clasp that can be removed for abuse? Overcome the adversity..........

A word of caution, here. Some people prefer to pick out their own tools. Myself, while I would appreciate the thought behind the gift, there's a good possibility that I might not get much use out of it as my floggers are picked out specifically for the way they're weighted. OTOH, I'm somewhat picky in a neurotic way about pretty much everything I use on a regular basis, pens, keyboards, mice, handtools, etc.

In all seriousness, though, if he's finicky about his toys, it's something to consider.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a very sweet idea. I only threw it out there because I've seen the hurt feelings that can arise when a woman 's intuition divines that a gift is not quite right.

I think that is a great idea! I have done a little beadwork, too, and even if the design isn't perfect, or the colors weren't quite what we hoped for, the sheer effort of the work is always appreciated.

thank you for the replies ( so far)..
Yes, the beadwork I do is in an extremely strong stitch ( the Egyptians used this stitch- work, hundreds of years old is still found intact to this day), and would NOT budge. That I can guarantee..
I dont think he is picky in terms of recieving gifts..
he would probably enjoy the sentiment and enjoy finding ways to use it...
